Berea Technical College (BTC), a leading private education College in KwaZulu-Natal celebrates 26 years as one of the pioneer colleges in Durban. It has earned the accolade as Top Performing College in the country, with over 700 distinctions in the 2024 National Department of Education (DOE) examinations, and its top achiever in Mechanical Engineering scooping several distinctions, and ranking first in country. The College boasts an impressive track record as a specialist engineering college, with 100% pass rates in key engineering subjects. It offers diplomas in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering, and is also known for its unique trade offering in Bricklaying and Plastering, Plumbing, Motor Trade, Fitting and Machining and Welding. From a specialist engineering school, it has extended its offering to the fields of IT, Management Studies, Education, Hospitality and Catering and Travel and Tourism, with a full bouquet of 32 qualifications. Newly launched is Berea Technikon, a premium Engineering College. Berea Technical College raised the bar further with its top achiever in Mechanical engineering also ranking first in the country. Khanyisani Mbutho, achieved an impressive 100% in Mathematics and Engineering Science and 99% in Mechanotechnics. Khanyisani attributed his success to his lectures and hands on teaching at the College. I.T, also a sought after qualification, attracted a high intake, with several learners achieving excellent results. Two stars that scored exceptionally in the Diploma in Information Technology and graduated as top achievers is Micaela Chetty and Sudarshan Raghununan, with a whopping 14 distinctions each.

Berea College of Technology is a higher education college situated in the iconic Station Building (old Tourism Junction), offering courses in the fields of IT, Accounting, Human Resources, Public Relations, Hospitality and Catering and Travel and Tourism. Berea Matric School is a Matric Tuition Centre, offering free matric with every vocation course.

Our fit-for-purpose education means that if you don’t get accepted at a University of Technology, we will take you in and offer you the necessary bridging support to take your career further. If you don’t have Math’s and Physical Science and want to enter the engineering field, we will start you off with a foundational trade course and groom you for the engineering field you dream off. Our focus is on equipping you with a qualification that is employable, so not matter the level you study; from N1-N6, you will receive a certificate at each level, which you can use to secure employment and start earning an income.
