Course Information

The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is:

  • A National Senior Certificate with a Higher Certificate endorsement or higher and a minimum of 30% for English is required.
    or
  • A National Certificate (Vocational) – A minimum of 40% in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level, and a minimum of 50% in four vocational subjects.
    or
  • A Senior Certificate with a pass in English.
    or
  • Mature Age Exemption: Candidates must have attempted Grade 12, on or above the age of 23 before or during the first year of registration with three years’ work experience and proven ability relating to the proposed programme as well as requisite communication skills.

With this programme learners can further there be learning both horizontally and vertically. Learners can receive credits at our institution and move onto other programmes offered at our Institution or they may obtain credits from public institutions and progress vertically. The Professional training obtained from this programme allows our learner`s entrance additional Qualifications the credits obtained can be used as evidence for RPL for other qualifications

All Examinations are set by Berea College of Technology, On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a Berea College of Technology Higher Certificate in Engineering in Electrical Engineering.

  • Electrical Designer – Pay Estimate: +/- R192,000 to R300,000 a year
  • Biomedical Engineer – Pay Estimate: +/- R300,000 to R500,000 a year
  • Electrician Assistant – Pay Estimate: +/- R170,000 to R300,000 a year
