The minimum entry requirement for the Higher Certificate in Information Technology is the following:

· National Senior Certificate: minimum endorsement for Higher Certificate (HC) with Mathematics

· National Senior Certificate Vocational: minimum endorsement for Higher Certificate

· Amended Senior Certificate: minimum endorsement for Higher Certificate

· Non-traditional applicants may gain admission via RPL for Alternative Access assessment

· Non-traditional applicants may gain admission via Senate discretionary admission

Certificates are issued by MICT Sector Education Training Authority (SETA)

Qualifications are nationally recognised by industry.

On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a Berea College of Technology Higher Certificate in Information Technology

• IT Support Technician / Helpdesk Support – Pay Estimate: +/- R180 000 to R300 000 a year.
• Junior Systems Administrator – Pay Estimate: +/- R172 500 to R300 000 a year.
• Computer Technician – Pay Estimate: +/- R183 000 to R300 000 a year.
• Junior Network Administrator – Pay Estimate: +/- R170 000 to R300 000 a year.
• Technical Support Consultant – Pay Estimate: +/- R200 000 to R320 000 a year.
• IT Sales Support – Pay Estimate: +/- R180 000 to R300 000 a year.
• Junior Web Developer – Pay Estimate: +/- R160 000 to R280 000 a year.
• Data Capturer / Entry Clerk – Pay Estimate: +/- R120 000 to R200 000 a year.
