The Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting focuses on developing skills like calculations, auditing, computation, and problem solving throughout the four years of study. This course aims to give undergraduate students specialised knowledge in accounting and finance. Graduates will be well-prepared to work in these fields and fill the need for skilled professionals.
In the first year, the programme covers Business Communication, Micro Economics, Business Statistics, Financial Accounting and Macro Economics, with a rich choice of subjects over the balance of the four years. The goal of this qualification is to create competent professionals who are ready for the workforce. After completing the programme, students will be capable of handling tasks in accounting and managing financial areas within businesses.

Course Information
You may enter the BCom programme, with any one of the following:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Bachelor pass, or
- An equivalent NQF level 4 qualification with proven proficiency in English.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), on approval.
The BCom Accounting Degree is accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee [HEQC] of the Council on Higher Education [CHE] and is registered on the National Qualifications Framework [NQF] with the South African Qualifications Authority [SAQA].

On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a degree certificate conferred by the College Rector at the college’s official graduation ceremony.

- The Honour’s level (NQF 8) or a postgraduate diploma in Financial Management, Financial Accounting and the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
- BCom Honours in Accounting
- A general BCom degree with specific credits in the Advanced Diploma Accounting or the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting
