The Higher Certificate in Tourism provides students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in tourism management, travel operations, customer service, tourism marketing, communication and destination management. The programme prepares students for entry-level employment in the tourism and travel industries while providing a foundation for further studies in Tourism, Hospitality, Travel and related fields. Graduates can pursue careers in travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, tourism organisations and related businesses as Travel Consultants, Tourism Assistants, Tour Guides, Reservations Consultants, Guest Relations Officers and Tourism Administrators.

The Higher Certificate in Tourism Certificate is accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee [HEQC] of the Council on Higher Education [CHE] and is registered on the National Qualifications Framework [NQF] with the South African Qualifications Authority [SAQA]
