  • This qualification may be achieved in whole or in part through the recognition of prior learning
  • Recognise Prior Learning: Exemption may be given on previous qualifications, age and work experience
The Certificate in Electrical Engineering is accredited by the Quality Council for Trade and Occupations (QCTO). The QCTO is a public entity responsible for quality assurance and the oversight of the design, accreditation, implementation, assessment and certification of occupational qualifications, part-qualifications and skills programmes.
Certificates are issued by Berea Technical College (BTC). Berea Technical College is accredited by Umalusi Council of Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training and by the Quality Council for Trade and Occupations. Programmes are fully accredited with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
  • Electrical Technician – Pay Estimate: +/- R192 000 to R300 000 a year
  • Maintenance Manager – Pay Estimate: +/- R300 000 to R500 000 a year
  • Building Manager – Pay Estimate: +/- R170 000 to R300 000 a year

A prescribed book list is available from the academic manager at the start of the programme, although the study guide available on Moodle will sufficiently cover the exam requirements.
