This diploma prepares graduates to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of electronic systems and equipment used in industrial, commercial, and consumer environments. Learners develop proficiency in electronic circuits, digital systems, instrumentation, fault-finding, communication systems, microcontrollers, and electronic equipment design. Emphasis is placed on hands-on laboratory work, problem-solving, safety procedures, and the ability to apply engineering principles in real-world contexts.

Course Information

Grade 12, or an equivalent NQFLevel 4 qualification. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) on approval.

Upon completion, students receive a Berea Technical College Diploma, fully endorsed by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) for industry-recognised credibility

  • Electronics Technician – Pay Estimate: +/- R180 000 to R450 000 per year
  • Electrical Technician – Pay Estimate: +/- R200 000 to R500 000 per year
  • Instrumentation Technician – Pay Estimate: +/- R220 000 to R550 000 per year
  • Maintenance Technician (Electronics) – Pay Estimate: +/- R190 000 to R480 000 per year
