Course Information

An article published by Bizcommunity highlighted the demand for qualified teachers in South Africa. “In 2015, the Centre for Development and Enterprise predicted that South Africa will need around 456 000 teachers by 2023. By 2018, the public education system had 410 000 teachers, with math teachers in particularly short supply”.

Lecturers at tertiary education institutions are also in need. University News reported insights from a study, Towards the Professionalisation of TVET lecturers led by NGO JET Education Services. “The need for properly qualified professional lecturers, with appropriate knowledge, skills, dispositions and competencies for the 21st century – and especially digital competencies – has become even more evident with the COVID-19 pandemic.”
